GOD IS THE RIGHTFUL OWNER

I'M SIMPLY THE MANAGER

God owns everything, and I am merely a manager of His resources.
This mindset is crucial for Kingdom-passionate entrepreneurs to develop and embrace.

It's not a novel idea; godly people have lived by this principle for thousands of years.

King David, a man after God’s heart, demonstrated this mindset in I Chronicles 29 during the preparations for the temple building.

Though David desired to build a house for God, the Lord told him that his son Solomon would fulfill that task.

In obedience, David gathered the necessary materials and passed them to Solomon, along with the plans the Holy Spirit had revealed to him.

David's generosity was astounding.

He personally gave over 110 tons of gold and 260 tons of silver, along with bronze, iron, wood, and vast quantities of precious stones.

Inspired by David’s example, the leaders and the people also gave willingly, contributing materials worth billions of dollars for the Temple's construction.

KING DAVID PRAISED GOD & ACKNOWLEDGE THAT GOD OWNS EVERYTHING

In I Chronicles 29:10-16, David’s acknowledgment of God’s ownership is vividly displayed.

Before all the people, David praised the Lord, saying:

“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, the majesty, and the splendor.

Everything in heaven and on earth belongs to you. We exalt you as the Lord over all things.
Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything.

Power and might are in your hand to exalt and give strength to people as you choose.

Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!

Even the material we have gathered to build the Temple to honor your holy name comes from you!

It all belongs to you!”

This is a beautiful picture of acknowledging God's ownership.
The people saw themselves as managers of God’s resources.

They gave cheerfully and willingly, without coercion or manipulation.

I Corinthians 4:2 & II Corinthians 9:6-16

Two other passages come to mind:

I Corinthians 4:2: “Those who have been trusted and put in charge must be faithful.”

II Corinthians 9:6-16: Paul reminds the Corinthians to give what they have decided in their hearts, not reluctantly or under pressure, for God loves a cheerful giver.

He assures them that God can bless them abundantly, so they will always have enough to give to every good work.

Paul uses the analogy of a farmer: “God is the One who gives seed to the farmer and bread for food.

He will give you all the seed you need and make it grow so that your goodness will yield a great harvest.

He will make you rich in every way so that you can always give freely.”

LET'S FOLLOW KING DAVID'S EXAMPLE

Like King David and the people in I Chronicles 29, the Corinthians gave willingly and cheerfully, understanding that God owns everything and were merely channels of His blessings.

As Kingdom ambassadors, Kingdom-passionate entrepreneurs, and believers, we are responsible for managing everything God has put under our control according to His instructions and guidance.

Embracing this mindset ensures that wealth or money does not ensnare us, but we remain devoted to God, the true owner of all.

Imagine the difference this mindset will make in our lives and businesses.

Our relationship with the Lord will remain vibrant as we abide in the vine because we want to be empowered by Him and hear from Him regularly and continuously.

Our prayer life will be transformed as we consult the omniscient Owner, our God, before making business decisions.

Our generosity will be impacted; giving will become effortless when we know the Owner is guiding us.

By keeping our hands and hearts open to His leadership, we can be assured of His continued abundant blessings.

WARNING

We must be careful as we embrace and live according to the truth that God is the rightful owner of everything.

Some preachers have used this truth to deceive God’s people.

Many wolves wear sheep's clothing, so walk wisely and be discerning.

Don’t be scared, but also don’t let anybody manipulate or coerce you to give.

Seek the Lord’s guidance in everything you do.

Let me end with this question: Who owns everything you have?

Is it God or you?
Answer honestly.

Reading and meditating on 1 Chronicles 29 and 2 Corinthians 9 will be beneficial.

God Bless You
