THE POWER OF YOUR BELIEF SYSTEMS

KINGDOM MINDSET FOR FINANCIAL FREEDOM

The belief system or mindset is one critical factor that often sets successful people apart from those who struggle or fail in any field.

Your internal state, more than anything else, determines your results, responses, and reactions in life and business.

The Bible clearly shows that unbelief, which is a limiting and disempowering mindset, will prevent a person from achieving or receiving blessings from God.

A person may have great strategies and excellent tactics, be knowledgeable, or even have a fabulous leader.

Still, without a proper mindset, reaching and maintaining his goals will be impossible.

Your Belief Systems Matter!

There is a lot of teaching and coaching about mindsets for success in different fields, such as sports, business, weight loss, and personal development.

Many secular people emphasize developing success and empowering mindsets because they understand that mindset is crucial for success.

Sadly, many believers limit the application and importance of belief only to salvation and their journey to heaven.

However, if we carefully study the Bible, we will conclude that God wants us to live by faith in every area of our lives.

THE BATTLE FOR HEART

According to the Bible, belief is not just something that only exists in our heads.

Apostle Paul in Romans 10:10 says that we believe with our hearts.

In the Bible, the word heart indicates the center and seat of all physical and spiritual life.

It is viewed as a fountain and seat of thoughts, passions, desires, appetites, affections, purpose, will, and character.

In Proverb 4:23, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, King Solomon said, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Another version of the Bible says, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”

As we see here, everything we do flows from the heart, and your heart's content determines the course of your life.

King Solomon understood the importance of the heart in achieving goals and fulfilling life's assignments.

In Proverb 27:19, King Solomon wrote, “As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.”

According to this, my life reflects what has filled my heart.
The Lord Jesus said the same thing, using a tree and fruits as metaphors.

In Luke 6:43-45 the Lord said that a good tree bears good fruits, and a bad tree bears bad fruits.

Each tree is identified or known by the fruits it produces.

People do not pick figs from thornbushes or grapes from briers.
Good people bring good things out of the good stored up in their hearts, and evil people bring evil things out of the evil stored in their hearts.

The mouth speaks, and actions proceed out of the heart's overflow.

In Matthew 12: 33-37, he reported the same teaching but added an important detail that Luke didn’t write down.

In Matthew 12:33, the Lord said make a tree good, and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad, and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.

The Lord teaches that you must change the tree if you want different results and fruits.

In this teaching, the tree is equivalent to the heart. Fruits come from the tree, just as words, thoughts, and actions come from the heart.

Our words and actions, which eventually will produce the results we get, come from within our hearts.

So, to achieve different and sustainable results, we must change the content of our hearts and minds.

WHY IS THE MINDSET & THE HEART SO IMPORTANT?

Mindsets or belief systems dictate how you view God, yourself, the world, and events, including opportunities.

Mindsets act like lenses through which you understand and interpret everything.

Your belief systems usually control how you think, feel, behave, respond, and make decisions.
Established mindsets often act as or form boundaries that determine what you can do and achieve and what you can’t do and accomplish.

You can see the power of mindsets when you study the journey of Israelites from Egypt to the promised.

The Lord showed them He was all-powerful and loved them with convincing proof.

Yet, after they received a bad report, they didn’t evaluate the situation based on God's ability and what was happening among the land's inhabitants.
They interpreted the report based on their mindsets, which had developed through years of bad experience and treatment in Egypt.
They said, “We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes and looked the same to them.”

I’m reminded of what King Solomon wrote in Proverb 23:7a: “As he thinks in his heart, so is he.” (the New King James version)

They thought about and saw themselves as grasshoppers.

As a result of that thinking, they were paralyzed with fear and didn’t act as the Lord wanted them to.

As a result of their mindsets, most of them didn’t reach the promised land.

They spent the rest of their lives in the wilderness.

You will find a different story when you fast forward forty years later.

Joshua sent two spies into the promised land.

While there, a woman called Rahan told them that everyone in that country had been living in fear for the last forty years.

The inhabitants heard what the Lord had done for Jacob’s descendants and how they defeated strong and powerful kings and armies.

This is what Rahab said,
“We have heard how the Lord made a dry path for you through the Red Sea when you left Egypt.
We know what you did to Sihon and Og, the two Amorite kings east of the Jordan River, whose people you completely destroyed.
Our hearts have melted in fear!
No one has the courage to fight after hearing such things.
For the Lord your God is the supreme God of the heavens above and the earth below.”

Do you see the power of belief systems?

Do you see how it can distort reality and influence your feelings, decisions, behavior, and actions?

In the case of Jacob’s descendants, the all-knowing, all-powerful, and loving God was their leader.

He gave them a dream that He swore by oath to fulfill.

God wanted to fulfill the promise, and He was able to help them achieve it.

But their unbelief and their limiting and disempowering mindset prevented them from receiving the blessing.

They viewed and interpreted the situation and opportunity ahead of them through the lenses of their belief systems, which they had developed during slavery.

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO YOUR LIFE & YOUR QUEST FOR TIME & FINANCIAL FREEDOM?

Most people have developed belief systems based on poverty and scarcity.

Some people's belief systems have been established based on erroneous teachings, such as the idea that poverty is a virtue, money is the root of all evil, or that the only thing a person has to do to achieve financial freedom is to name and claim it.

Many years ago, someone in extreme financial hardship refused to get help to start a business.

He had the skills and the ability to start a business that could meet the needs of his neighborhood and town.

He said that starting a business would mean he wanted to get rich, which could cause him to fall into temptation and harmful desires that could destroy his life.

However, the same person worked in someone else’s business and was paid so little for his labor.

Several years later, I was sad to hear that his wife passed away for something that could be easily treated on time.

Why was she not treated on time? I asked.

They didn’t have enough money to pay for the treatment.

Sadly, what was needed was not much at all.
After that incident, he reevaluated his belief systems and renewed or reprogrammed his mind and heart.

Then he started a business and was doing well the last time I checked.
He cares for his family, helps others in need, and invests in Kingdom advancement.

That is the power of mindset.

So, please evaluate your mindset and renew your mind if you need to do so.

Let's get in touch if you need help establishing an empowered mindset for success.

God bless you.

Remember, all things are possible.
